Library of the City Archives

The scholarly special library of the City Archives comprises approximately 33,000 volumes; it complements our archival holdings and provides literature for their research.

The library may be used by all interested persons. It is a reference‑only library, and materials cannot be borrowed for use outside the premises.

The main areas of the collection are:

• Publications from and about Bavarian Swabia, Augustana
• Publications on Bavarian and German history
• Archival science literature

The holdings of the archive library are fully catalogued and can be searched in our own OPAC. To consult items in the reading room, please submit your request together with the identifier of the book via our contact form.

Please note that no photocopier is available and that taking photographs of library materials with digital cameras is not permitted for copyright reasons.
