Friends’ Association of the Augsburg City Archives

The "Freundeskreis des Stadtarchivs Augsburg" (Friends’ Association of the Augsburg City Archives) is a support organization founded in 2003. It promotes the work of the Augsburg City Archives. In doing so, it aims to strengthen the city’s historical awareness and that of its residents. It supports the City Archives

• in the preservation and restoration of its holdings,
• in acquiring and safeguarding estates and collections,
• in the cataloguing and arranging of the documents,
• in the electronic storage (digitization) of the documents,
• in providing archival materials for research,
• in its initiatives to develop and explore Augsburg’s history,
• in conveying archival content to the public through lectures, conferences, exhibitions, and publications.

The Friends’ Association is registered in the Register of Associations at the Augsburg District Court and is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Augsburg City Tax Office. Both individuals and companies or organizations are invited to become members.
