Fees
The City Archives are open to all interested persons. In most cases, which includes academic, local‑history, journalistic, or instructional purposes, information requests and the use of the City Archives are free of charge. The use of the digital reading room is generally free of cost as well.
However, fees may apply for the following types of use, in accordance with the City Archives’ schedule of fees:
- information services related to personal and family research
- consultation of building records
- in‑depth research and responses to inquiries that go beyond a simple initial information request
- creation of digital reproductions by the City Archives (note: the re‑use of information and digital reproductions from the City Archives is, by contrast, free of charge)
- repeated orders of archival materials without subsequently consulting them
We are happy to advise you in advance as to whether any costs may arise in connection with your specific request.
