Statutes and Regulations
The Augsburg City Archives, as a public archive, may be used by anyone who is interested. As a rule, use takes place following prior contact with the City Archives or in person in the reading room. Our regulations and statutes provide detailed information about the basic procedures when visiting the City Archives as well as about the duties of the institution.
Please also refer to our help pages for the use of the digital reading room and for on-site use, as well as for building record consultation and personal and family research.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to your visit!
The statutes define the responsibilities of the Augsburg City Archives and provide the legal basis for the use of its holdings. All information relevant to archival use is also available in a concise form in the User Regulations and Reading Room Regulations.
Most forms of using the City Archives are free of charge (in particular academic and local history research). The schedule of fees provides information on which types of use are subject to charges.
The User Regulations contain all important information for our users. It is advisable to read them before visiting or contacting us.
The Reading Room Rules govern the procedures and conduct in the reading room. Therefore, they should be read prior to spending time in our reading room.
The Building Regulation regulate conduct within the building as well as on the premises of the City Archives.
